First of all I just like how the movie potrays how cowboy/herder live. It seems believable for me(i'm a 90's kid and i don't know a thing about ranching). Maybe other can elaborate about how it should be. I like the simplicity, the solitude, the hardship of relying to your employer just because he has all the capital and the power.
Of course Heath (may he rest in peace) and Jake gave top notch acting. Even those who were starring in the movie become top Hollywood actors/actress. It shows how the casting was meticulously done.
About the story, I just love how it can potrays gay guys living in a conservative region. How to survive by being in the closet, and the struggle that all human experienced which is turning your back to something that feels really good. The relief when they meet each other, the joy, the sadness when they depart. But the ultimate thing that I love about the movie is that how it can potrays regret. We as human rarely learn about regret as it's only taught when we lost something we hold dear. Some might be lucky that they lost something that they can recover. Some lost something that they will regret for the rest of their live.
This is movie is one of those things where everything fell perfectly into place. Actor/actress, director, script, filmography, soundtrack, everything!! And it always pain my heart everytime I see Heath. Dang it, I'm sad now. Even i'm sad when I see Heath's joker. I never care for celebrity but Heath will always have a special place in my heart.
