Normally when I go into horror/thriller films I end up coming out highly dissatisfied or disappointed as nowadays everything seems to be shown in the trailers, with nothing left when you actually end up seeing the film!
I knew I would love Nic cage as he's so utterly versatile so that's always a given with him. But I was honestly quite taken aback. If I didn't already know this was Nicolas cage I seriously wouldn't have recognised him. Serial killers in films normally don't scare me but I 1000% would never want to meet this character, that's just something else entirely! Just brilliantly done, and his voice, that will be with me for some time I tell you!
I just loved the cinematography, the way it was directed/edited etc and all put together so meticulously, it really reminded me of the kind of classic older horror films. I'm guessing they were going for that vibe with the years it was set in but it really made it for me with it not being incredibly 'modern' The different parts/sections reminded me of the shining for some reason. It's like you could see the film getting a bit off the wall as each segment came.
I loved how uncomfortable it made me feel, and that doesn't happen hardly at all now with me anymore with horrors. I did feel this with "smile" but before that I don't think I've enjoyed a horror since sinister.
My husband hated it so I wanted to make a point making sure it was highly rated and reviewed, as I'm sure there will be other people like him that don't like it.
I get people have a difference in opinions but I do hope people appreciate this film for what it is as I genuinely think it's going to be one that people remember for a lot longer than they realise.
I thought hereditary and midsommar were incredibly boring and over rated (not the main actresses may I add!) so definitely shows my differences in opinions on "popular" horrors.

Normally when a movie is hyped up big time you can pretty much guarantee it's gonna be rubbish.
Honestly this is literally just what the world needed. But do you know what? If you didn't like it then fine! Maybe it was just what I needed!
I'm not a cheesy fan in films but this did it so right. Honestly I was laughing so hard then nearly crying the next. It was a rollercoaster of a ride that I didn't know I needed in my life. I came out there thinking it was brilliant what I didn't expect was me driving home trying to stop myself from crying. I know it sounds dramatic but if you got it, you know.
Ryan gosling I knew he was a great actor but my god he took up a whole other comedic value and wasn't embarrassed in doing so! He was pure perfection in the role of Ken.
Obvs Margot Robbie. No words needed.
I loved the script. I loved the direction, I loved all the actors involved.
Honestly just pure barbie perfection. Chefs kiss.
Let me go off and drink wine and now go cry.
