  • A wonderful journey

This is a beautifully crafted film, that takes the viewer on an entertaining and emotional journey through Edwardian England. The screenplay is perfectly paced, holding the viewers interest, waiting for the next turn which often come in unexpected places. It's an exciting and repeatedly satisfying watch, with regular laughs too, and lovely English quips (Helena Bonham Carter's 'you noodle' a particular favourite) . It is fantastically cast. Emma Thompson shines. Anthony Hopkins brings his frustratingly tight-lipped Britishness to his role, and Samuel West's intruiging and ambitious character is refreshing in taking us out of upper class life. All in all, it's a pleasure to watch and will leave you yearning for another glimpse of Howard's End, once the credits start to roll.

  • Loved this!

A treat of a movie! Packs an emotional punch, laugh out loud funny at times but sad at every turn, a movie that strikes a realistic tone in the presentation of family conflicts. Reminded me a lot of Little Miss Sunshine. The ensemble cast was fantastic - Adam Sandler a revelation. Presented as a series of connected short stories focusing on different members of the family I was left very involved and wanting more. It's not often I finish a movie wishing they'd given us another half hour.
