I have enjoyed becoming a fan of the Kdrama world and have just recently been viewing many Cdrmas. This was one of my first on Netflix. I have yet to find any other Cdrama that is as well done as a Kdrama but this comes close. The acting and chemistry between the characters is beleiveable and heart warming. It is not your typical 70's american networ soap opera which most if not all Cdramas tend to be with overacting or no acting at all and poor if any visual enjoyment. I also thoroughly enjoyed another Cdrama the ML starred in, "A Use for My Talent". Another well acted and visually gratifying Cdrama.
I would have given 10/10 but this Cdrama ended right in the middle of the story line when the ML and FL are about to develop their relationship. This was very disappointing as I really enjoyed the storyline an dcharacters. I am bewildered as why this wasn't finished or at least a season 2 wasn't filmed. Our loss as fans.

Story, characters, and acting were superb. I downgraded the rating for the ending. I was very disappointed in how they chose to end the show. A major them in korean movies is first love and destiny this has both in spades. A mermaid and han fall on love and that relationship is reincarnated throughout several generations until present day where the characters try to find their love after many unfortunate incidents. They also try to find a way to thwart their ill-fated destiny which they do. I guess I am old fashioned...after all this work to make their love and dear my work they dont get married, don't get engaged, and leave all their friends and aquaintences behind?!? Sorry just don't like it. For me a 10 up until episode 20.
