This movie is mostly about melting glaciers and forest fires. Yes, I know they're trying to make the connection between weather and these things, but the movie title is "Extreme Weather," and there's very little extreme weather in the movie (well, quite a bit of tornado footage) and no real teaching/learning about weather. The movie follows a tornado-chasing scientist, but only shows how he is trying to get a scientific instrument to be sucked up by a tornado. Another caveat: the movie has a quite dark and menacing message about climate change and our world in general -- I'd be hesitant to let a young child watch unless you're okay with years of fear of thunderstorms, tornadoes, fires, and our world in general.
So, this show wants you to believe that the townspeople, in 1910, would have boycotted school because a blind girl is attending, but that their beloved, demure school teacher dating and marrying a saloon owner wouldn't be a problem? Please! It's ridiculous. This has been one of my must-watch shows this season, but they just lost me. I will now have one less TV show taking up space on my dvr.
