So far it seems to be the best adaptation. Some may wonder where is Carrie, well as true in her life, Carrie was born in Kansas. Albeit, at the time Mary was 5 and Laura 3. Then the Ingalls moved back to the Big Woods, when the buyer of their log cabin could no longer make payments.
In the books, it talks of the second journey out west. So if this is true to the story, Carrie should be born soon. Otherwise, I would be annoyed with the omittance of a character as well.
The story so far does follow the books quite well ("except for no Carrie") One hopes a screen play writer out there could adapt the story of Laura Ingalls Wilder to screen, so far there has been too many poor attempts.

was a good idea and a good story that ended badly. great characters... great concept... and great plot... but the ending left me very unsatisfied... like starting to eat a great hamburger... at a great restaurant... but having to leave before the meal is finished... it left too many things unexplained... many story lines could have gone further...
Its a cute movie but almost the same as the first movie.
I play hockey and its very hard to watch, numerous rules being broke, and the constant equipment changes.
Equipment costs a lot of money, and they all have new pieces of equipment in every game or practice sequence, like new helmets, gloves, breezers, not to mention all the goalie equipment helmets, leg pads and all, at least three different sets (6 for both goalies). *Note all equipment was oversized as well, the helmets should be snug, plus the straps would have to be fastened, you're not allowed to play if they are undone.
Plus their opponents shouldn't even be in the same talent/skill level (like A, B, or C) let alone AGE bracket, besides the fact that they don't have any girls on the other teams. The refs miss calls that even a non-hockey fan could catch.
The penalty shot (shoot out) was already mentioned.
And the "Switching numbers" mentioned switching jerseys would not be allowed. A goalie with out a mask, the play is whistled down, the time it would take to take off and put on the goalie pads when they switched players. Goalies in the lower levels are not allowed to cross the Blue line. Sorry this movie is So FLAWED its hard to watch!!!!
