The only really good thing to say about this movie is the title song by Tina Turner "We dont need another hero(thunderdome)" and its also predicting the movie itself: we dont need it.
The film starts decent despite a HUGE plothole, while the pilot was teaming up with Max in the Road Warrior in Thunderdome they dont know each other anymore?!
The first act is "okay" but by the second act it all goes downhill from there turning into a PG-13 wannabe Goonies kids friendly annoying fieldtrip.
This film was the funeral for the Mad Max franchise until 20yrs later George Miller give it an outstanding resurrection with Fury Road and the completly underrated Furiosa.
The worst part about Thunderdome is, its a borefest. It lacks everything to grab your attention and feels like a forgetable episode of a "apocalyptic" scenery tv show no one remembers. You forget story lines hours afters having watched the film.

I always loved Girls and binged it as the seasons progressed.
I actually have no idea what Girls wants to be but i do know what i see: a pretty well documented well-written well observed clique of of middle class white girls in New York. All underachievers, entitled, lack of self-awareness, wisdom, maturity, drifting through life. The main character Hannah(played by Lena Dunham, also written and created by) is the center piece and she is THE WORST human being among the bunch. The whole show is watching a car crash involving the most unlikable characters you can imagine. By the end of season four one of the main characters rebels quietly confronts them how awful they all are and leaves this friendgroup forever. This is the only silver line of a decent human being in this whole show. The only time a chracter instead of talking actually changes her way, reflects and life and makes decisions for themselves for the better, everyone else is just trying to get the best out every situation for themselves.
This show is highly entertaining, really really well written but i assume Lena Dunham was just writting down her own life and documenting her social life without any self-awareness and capacity of reflection. Nonetheless, she gave us this amazing social human horror show of awful characters. Please watch it! Its a feast.

The reviews are all mixed, some like it, some hate it and some think its something missing.
First of all i really liked this movie and its better than a 7/10 yet not a clear 8 to me.
The main problem with the monkey is it pays tribute to 80s horror; completly gore, hardcore, funny and cynic but too often it feels to serious and wants to be more an arthouse or A24 horror and slows down the pace. Its confusing. The performances are great, the writing is REALLY REALLY top notch and extremly funny. Osgood Perkins made a really fun movie to watch on Halloween and i liked it personally better than his previous film "Longlegs" which i also gave a 7.
The ending is so ridiculous and awesome at the same time, it really showed his true intentions to make a 80s/90s vibe kinda horror film: end it with a bigger, better, larger bang than any horror movie in previous years. Unapologetic over-the-top. Loved it.
