The Chosen is a phenomenal, top-notch series based on the life of Jesus Christ. The biblical truths are there. They're using creative license to flesh out the characters, but they're doing it in a respectful, realistic manner. Is it conjecture? Sure. But the way they're handling the series is realistic. What might the people that surrounded Jesus have been like? How would they have seen Him? How would they have experienced Him? What would cause the disciples to drop everything and follow Him?
I've honestly never seen another media project with this kind of a personal touch when it comes to the character of Jesus. They are respectful of His deity, but leave plenty of room to explore His humanity. What He might have been like, on a day-to-day basis, when He was here on earth. Most media projects about Jesus don't have the luxury to explore those kind of details. As a series, The Chosen has the time and motivation to explore those details. They're not limited to a two hour movie block. And the integrity of the cast and crew is top-notch...as well as the acting ability of the whole cast.
This series about Jesus is different than any other you've ever seen. But to quote one of lines in the series... #GetUsedToDifferent.

As a fan of Nathan Filion since his Firefly days, I have not yet seen him in a role that disappoints. This series is no exception. He's in top form, and the nuances of his acting abilities contribute to the nuances of his role in this series. It's an excellent show...well worth watching!
After watching The Encounter (original movie), and The Encounter: Paradise Lost and enjoying both, I was really looking forward to this series. It didn't disappoint. I really enjoy it Bruce Marchiano's modern-day portrayal of Jesus. He is warm and friendly, and gives a loving touch to the relationship Jesus Christ desires to have with each one of us. I binge-watched the first season, then had to wait for each new episode of the second season to come out! I look forward to each new episode...and only wish there were more episodes to a season!
