I truly almost don't even know what to say about this film. I'm really big on star rating movies that I watch on this app, I don't leave reviews all the time but I rate them, that way if I don't remember if I've watched a movie or not I can go back and see if I've rated it and then I know if I've watched it. There are less than a handful of movies that I have given a one star too. This very much gets the one star.
Of all of the main characters, there is not a single one of them that is likable in any way. It's just a bunch of horrible bratty brats being stupid and annoying. And also just terrible people. The parents aren't great either. The only likable character in the whole movie is a teacher who has like 10 minutes of screen time. The characters suck. The writing is atrocious. The acting is not good. Everything comes across very flatline OneNote no one brought any depth to their work at all. The only, and I do mean absolutely only, people who came to make this movie who were good at their jobs were the people who did the set design. The director not good. The writer trash. The actors poor talent.
Truly to anyone out there I would say do not waste your time watching this hot dog turd get set on fire.

I am absolutely a horror junkie, however possession films tend to be my absolutely least favorite. As much as I love horror I think the original three exorcist movies are probably some of the most boring things ever committed to the silver screen. The latest one was halfway decent. I could name a handful of possession films that I have found remotely enjoyable.
Late night with the devil blew every single one of them out of the water. There were genuinely parts where I could not look away.
I love the visuality of this film. It genuinely felt and looked like something recovered from the '70s. It was grainy it was dull of color exactly like '70s TV was. That was a really cool throwback. The story told was engaging, original and beautifully done. The acting was top-notch. Like the skeptic guy did it so well that he genuinely got on my nerves. I think a great thing to point out with this is often in horror The interactions between people are not written in a realistic way; like a lot of them when you watch you're like that's not how real people would respond to that situation. Well it's safe to say that the Cairnes's brothers don't have an issue with that. The interactions between people in this film felt genuinely real. There was not a moment where it seemed overwritten or acted.
I went into this film eager to see it just because it was this highly talked about new horror movie. However, though eager, I for sure had very low expectations. We're talking made the room too hot sat up in the most uncomfortable position just to make myself uncomfortable so I wouldn't fall asleep during the movie level expectations. And then they shot my expectations in the face. I definitely spent the last part of the movie comfortable cuz I knew I wasn't going to sleep. Like the movie actually found my nerves and gave them the Goosebumps. Bravo.
