There's something about Australian series... the characters are always exaggerated, as though the people of this country are all quirky, low IQ and one dimensional. That might work ok for comedy but in the drama genre it's almost embarrassing. I'm not saying this is a terrible show, mainly because I didn't get past the first episode. I just couldn't be bothered. It's impossible to feel for the characters because it's obvious in every scene they are actors. Actors trying really, really hard to pretend to be authentic but never reaching any level of sincerity. Some viewers might find it amusing but many like me will find it forced and awkward.
This show's trying to be Below Deck, with staff and guests in land-based luxury accommodations. However... it feels like the staff were just recruited off the street for the show. No-one is professional or exhibits the knowledge, efficiency and finesse you'd expect when attending to high-paying guests. To be honest, the guests also seem quite awkward too.
If I was a guest paying thousands of dollars a night, I'd want a professional discreet butler and staff, whereas this crew are loud and love making themselves the centre of attention. It's hard to figure out what they actually do. The housekeeper seems to work her butt off, the chefs produce too, but the rest all want to be in charge. Maybe they're really just all wannabe actors playing roles.

This was an interesting show, something different. I felt as viewers we were not presented with sufficient information about the actual case. Little time was given to present the case's facts to the viewers - the jury had a couple of days of presentations where as viewers had only a few minutes. Most of the program was about watching the jurors - and after all, that's the subject matter. But the conversations between them were pretty basic and repetitive. That might be the editing. It seemed clear from the start how most of them would vote and at the end, peer pressure played a big part in the outcome. What I did learn was that I really don't want to be on a jury. Some of the jurors were respectful but some so annoying, particularly the women who continually rolled their eyes, pulled faces and snickered when others spoke. The show could have been improved with a timer, to indicate the progress of the court proceedings and the length of deliberation.
