This movie was a major letdown for me. I love the lead actress Svenja Jung, and I have seen a lot of her work but this was not a good film. I thought she did a fine job, but the plot/script was absurd, many actions taken by the characters were pretty illogical and not believable, and just not super entertaining.
It was a sexy movie but that's all.
No depth to any of the characters.
It is a shame really because I love the concept of this movie! I think it could be made really well and I think Svenja is great for this stuff, but execution was poor.
I watched this in its original form in German.
Was für eine Schande!

This episode is haunting. This harkens back to the core of what made black mirror so good, relevant, and terrifying in its early infancy. Time after time in this episode I just was hit with wave after wave of astonishment and dread. I have incredibly high hopes for season 7 based on the first episode and, for me, signals a return to their peak.
Great acting performances, unbelievable plot, and phenomenal overall storytelling. This episode will already be one of my go-to picks for people to watch.
I think what makes it so effective is that the themes this episode touches on are hauntingly accurate for our time. Terrific start.

Babel was a very unique movie. And I was engaged mostly throughout. It does run a tad long but because there are multiple intertwined stories none of them feel too long individually. However, as the stories come together and you start to fill in the gaps you also start to ask why? What is the point? I definitely enjoyed this movie as a whole, but I will probably not watch it again. It was worth a try but to me falls a bit flat.
Each individual story deserves its own screen time and I applaud the movie makers for their abilities in such, but the sum of the parts feel like they don't add up to the value of the individual pieces.
