Enjoyed Season 1 since there were contrasting characters and some plot tension to get my attention. But Season 2 is a dull, predictable snoozer with the lead actor directed to be so wooden that any roided out meathead from a gym could do this role. Plus this season adds 3 other characters working with him that are as equally dull since everyone can figure everything out in a second and destroy bad guys in 2 seconds with barely a blemish.
I don't expect Shakespeare from an action series and don't want that. However, they needed to do better than each episode following a formula of tough talk followed by random action scenes which usually includes several scenes of 100 pound women karate chopping 300 pound apes. You've seen this type of thing many times before but this boring one appears to be made by middle schoolers.
As an after thought, it would be refreshing if just once in a series like this, it could acknowledge the ridiculousness by including a quick scene of hundreds of bad guys laying around until one of them says, "Do you think we should practice shooting?" And another responding with, "Nah, we have automatic weapons, there's no way we can miss with thousands of bullets per second fired directly at someone in front of us. It will be fine."

Since my heart doesn't need warming as other reviewers said occurred for them during this film, appararently that allowed my brain better functioning when watching this movie. If you are the same, this may not be a movie for you.
Yes, the main character is grumpy. However, within the first 20 minutes of the movie, it's also learned that he easily will attack people physically, starve an animal or a ignore neighbor who clearly is headed for an accident that could lead to death. It's not done with any skilled humor. So this is the type of sociopath most people would stay away from in a neighborhood. Yet all the characters in the film love him, or instantly trust him. Why? Don't know. Most of his backstory or incidents are unknown to the characters. It's too much of a stretch even if it was just a TV sitcom.
Because, strangely, this movie does appear to try also to be a TV sitcom. Most of the characters in his neighborhood are completely opposite of him since they're buffoonish type caricatures. The main female lead is okay but too over the top aw-shucks. It seems like two scripts were happening with one as an average silly TV sitcom paired with a potentially very dark film and all that works out to be an uninteresting mess of a movie.
Until, wait for it, a member of one of the special groups the nation heard a lot about in recent years shows up and suddenly grumpy socipath guy is instantly a saint. Hollywood pandering? Shocking. You know the rest.
Groan. You may be saying that I think too much during films. And you would be right. But in this case, there was nothing interesting on screen to keep me entertained. It will be interesting to see the Swedish original to compare.

There is a brief contrived interaction within the first quarter of the movie that is a blatant catalyst for the rest of the movie to happen. Key word - contrived. It's obvious. So based on the reviews, I'm noticing from that scene who will probably enjoy this movie or want two hours of their life back. If you nerd out on superficial characters with issues doing bizarre things in a slow movie and feel this must have some deeper meaning that you haven't seen a thousand times before, then you'll like it. If you're a realist who quickly thinks about there being a ton of series on streaming services that have better 45 minute episodes than this entire film, then you will hate this movie.
