This is, at every level, an excellent film. It would be so easy to trip from suspenseful horror into camp, but they have judged this perfectly.
The film, as with all art, repays even a small amount of background research, I can recommend the Wikipedia page on the word 'Nosferatu' as a good start.
Well-judged references to the 1922 version, atmospheric sets and a good soundscape all contribute.
Well acted, directed and edited, my only criticism is that Nosferatu himself, is a bit too substantial, something more wraith like, more cadavers would, I feel, have worked better, think of Joquin Phoenix in Jocker Follie a deluxe.

The film is very, very unusual. It's pace can come across as slow sometimes, but I thought that appropriate.
It really tries to see the world through Arthur's delusional eyes.
Joaquin Phoenix is, as in the last film, amazing. An actor who inhabits, in the most physical sense, the characters of Arthur and his demonic alter ego.
Lady Gaga surprised me. I had never considered her as an actor, but her portrayal of a rich and exploitative character was very believable.
I was so pleased that the haunting cello theme persisted in the soundscape of this film, from the previous episode. It really works.
In the end, I felt Arthur really needed protecting from both his inner, and exterior worlds.
But I live in hope that JP will one day play Richard III.

Looks pretty, creates a real tense atmospheres but that's about all. This stylish drivel is almost un-watchably bad.
What a wasted opportunity, this could have been so much better. One can only suspend so much realism and even if drunk I would struggle to do that here.
I simply could not empathise with the characters in this film, I did not believe in them or their actions.
This feels so much like a film written by committee, like a randomly assembled jigsaw of largely disconnected ideas.
Whan it opened I hoped for something along the lines of The Ballard of Buster Scruggs, what I got was so very far short of that.
Brave use of silence though, one of the key things about those American plains.
