I saw this movie, but all I saw was Leslie Caron. I'm told that my review is too short, but all I can say is that every time I see a film in which Leslie Caron plays a part, Leslie Caron is all I see.
The "treasure" will never be found, because its discovery will mean the end of the series. Is it not obvious? It's a soap opera. There is a cliffhanger at the end of almost every episode. Like every soap opera, the story never ends. I used to watch until I realized that the story has no end, but will continue for as long as it generates audience, at which time it will die a natural death. No "treasure" but quite a lot of money.
I never heard so many ridiculously bad accents. Hitchcock must have known how bad they were. Some American actors can do accents, some definitely cannot, and it seems that all the one's that cannot are gathered in this episode.
