The problem with this movie is that the decisions the characters make are perpetually unbelievable. They constantly comply with the terrorists demands or take on massive tasks themselves rather than seeking help from the police or raising the alarm. Ostensibly the reason for this is the terrorists have leverage on them but it just doesn't hang together or feel plausible.
The audience is constantly left feeling like it's unbelievable - of course there is a suspension of disbelief involved in any movie but this just demands too much and doesn't earn that suspension of disbelief.
It also feels low budget because the same 6 characters or so remain apparently the only ones who can solve the crisis, despite its constant escalation.

Hard to get into or relate to any of the characters. Wooden acting. Characters not developed, I didn't care about them.
The ending was just too implausible. The pacing was also strange, basically felt very slow. I don't think this what Agatha Christie created or intended her novels work!
Many "cosy" murder mysteries rely on atmosphere and this one tries to create that with the Venice and Halloween theme, but ultimately the poor plot/characterisation undermined all the attempts to create atmosphere.
Not much more to say other than that this didn't succeed as a "cosy" mystery because of character, plot and timing issues.

Interesting premise, ok cast and Hugh production values made this something I was interested to try. And the premise alone - a plague in 14th century Florence leading to social breakdown, like servants successfully passing themselves off as nobles - carried the first couple of episodes. But then the long speeches started - they literally appear like a song -and-dance routine in a musical, except with no intrinsic entertainment value. Suddenly the characters burst into monologues, and I found myself fast forwarding these as they added nothing to the story or characterisation, and weren't funny or wise but just got in the way. I stopped watching at about episode 4.
