I am rarely and so deeply moved by any drama series but I Fought the Law absolutely got into my heart and soul.
Sheridan Smith, whom I have so much respect and admiration for, blew me away with a stellar and emotional performance that had me in tears throughout. Thank You for moving me. All the other actors complimented her stand-out role by delivering performance they should be more than proud of.
The director here needs to be applauded for the deep integrity and sensitivity to which this drama series was produced, and which honoured the real-life tragic story of Ann Ming's murdered daughter Julie and the astonishing overturning of 800 years of English law.
The script writers did a superb job of honouring that of which really happened and to do so in four compact episodes is of enormous credit to them.
I was in tears not just because of Sheridan Smith's stand-out performance, but mainly for the unimaginable pain Ann Ming suffered for the hideously callous murder of her daughter. The depth of strength of character she displayed in leaving no stone unturned in her quest for justice further moved me to floods of tears, as ordinary people like this woman are incredibly inspirational and proves to us all that we all have a voice and probably need to use it more often. That said, deep emotional pain is one of the most powerful magnets in the human psyche for change, and when used with love, patience, fortitude, resilience and integrity, not only mountains but mountain chains can be moved.
Ann Ming is a testament to that.

I watched both series of this superlative drama and was hooked and gripped by season one, which I thought was excellent. I was taken aback by the second series which was nothing short of outstanding. The suspense and tension were palpable throughout and culminated in a climax that had me at the edge of my seat, and nearly needing a stiff drink afterwards I was so on edge.
The acting was top-drawer throughout complimented by the lead actor Blum, who was a tour-de-force: I could not get enough of her.
The script was superlative and even though this is a fictional drama, there are shocking undertones to what happens and has happened in real life.
The direction and production were top-drawer and they certainly know how to keep the viewers hooked from start to finish.
There are a number of beyond evil psychopaths in this series and I would warn people to take care as many of the violent scenes are very graphic but probably necessary in ratcheting up the tension to an almost unbearable crescendo. The excellent actors who act these psychopaths remind me of the intrinsic evil in our world today, and vile and evil people of the ilk of Netanyahu and Putin come to mind
This is HOW you make a drama series.
Thank You sincerely to all concerned in this outstanding production.

Loved this drama series. It gripped the viewer from the very start with twist after twist and then yet more twists right up to the climactic end. And you guessed it - yet another twist.
Excellent acting throughout with very clever and accomplished direction. But it is the script for me that it is the standout: brilliantly written by the acclaimed thriller writer Harlen Coben. There were some red herrings in this drama series too - which Coben is famous for - but not as many as do feature in some of his other thrillers, which can be annoying.
I enjoyed the black humour in the earlier part of the series which made me laugh out loud and which was a wonderful antidote to the many thrilling twists and turns. There were also very few plotholes so this drama series more than passed the test of believability.
I really hope you enjoy this drama series as much as I did, and so many others did, from the very positive reviews.
