Okay so if you're just here to watch psycho Dennis in a more higher powered role, you're in for a treat. Glenn Howerton is excellent, in fact, can we just cast him in every psycho role ever going forward please? Yes please. My God does he play the role to perfection, funny enough to be enjoyable, intimidating enough to be slightly scary.
If you're here for an autopsy on the Blackberry device itself, might be slightly sadder news. Not that it's not an excellent rendition, it is. Just like me, you may find yourself pining after days gone by.... Blackberry held a particular soft spot in my heart. They were very much dominating the market still in my late teens, so a lot of my happiest memories, whether that's first girlfriends, or just friends full stop, in some way involve a Blackberry device. Looking back it's hard not to feel a little sad on this unique period of consumer history, if not be reminded of our own mortality, if a product as huge as Blackberry can die to be largely forgotten, what chance to we have after all...
If you're just here for an entertaining film, you won't be left wanting. Considering it's essentially about a failed phone company, it's surprisingly engaging and compelling. In short I guess my review is.... Good movie, Glenn Howerton is great, I miss Blackberry ? Damn getting old sucks. 13 years ago it was still kicking butt and here I am sounding like an old man whining on about how these young whippersnappers never appreciated the telegram. Ouch technology moves on quick.
