A Quiet Place: Day One (2024)
Another Milking Attempt With Stupid Premise
First of all the whole premise of franchise is extremely stupid. You want us to believe that these stupid aliens can defeat mightiest military in the world when their vulnerability is simply high pitch sound and whole the scientists in the world couldn't figure it out.
Now, again instead of showing how they could have defeated the world governments, the makers attempt is to milk the last bit of cash from gullible consumers with same repeated story which was at least better in 1st and 2nd installment.
I hope they take a big loss on this one and we don't see again another sequel of the prequel of the stupidest franchise of this century.
Bhagavanth Kesari (2023)
Wrong Message...Wicked Stereotypes
Just couldn't finish full movie. Protoganist is a violant maniac and movie was clearly trying to justify this non sense character. Its one thing to fight to save someone's life but totally wrong to hit somebody for merely using bad words against you.
Also, its unfathomable for even a villain to kill his own son just for the sake some monetary gain.
Typical scenes in movie seems again like a superhero strength of a 60+ years old progonist who will not even take a single hit and kill people like ants. This is usual formula of indian movies and unfortunately thats what is bringing money into the business. People simply don't like sensible stories and thats really worrisome for talented directors. Its probably one of the worst times in movie history.
Maurh (2023)
Amazing Original Punjabi
If you just consider the use of punjabi language in this movie, then for this sole reason it deserves 10/10. Its sometime difficult for even native punjabi speaker to understand the pure punjabi used in this movie. For this reason, I consider this an art movie to revive the trend of original punjabi. So many idioms and phrases get you in nostalgic state of talking with old people.
Costume design and cinematography are flawless clearly resprenting the culture of that era. The whole atmosphere is masterfully presented that you feel like living in that era.
Storywise, it is simplistic yet transformative the way it is presented. Punjabi industry need more movies like this to revive the art and language of punjabi culture.
Selfiee (2023)
Worst Ending
Movie premise was very good with some interesting situations but the whole ending experience was worst I have ever seen in a movie. They glorified the stars and insulted common man in this movie. Sub inspector promised his son that he will win but the whole ending sequence was just an insult after insult to this law officer. Message of the movie is that a superstar is like a god with all the morality and values and deserves to be treated as such while a common man is corrupt, opportunist and must be insulted and beaten brutally.
What a shame for Akshay Kumar to self glorify during his falling fame.
The White Tiger (2021)
Misleading movie and title. Waste of time
At first look of plot line, it seems that it will be a movie about inspiration and how a common man rises to the top but reality is so much disappointing. All through the movie I was wondering where is the cunning and wit mentioned in plot line and how and when the protagonist will come out of this so called cage he keeps repeating. After wasting about 90% of the time watching the same gutless acts, master-slave relationship, it comes to the same old predictable escape route for the protagonist. What a shame!
There was actually no real story to tell. You could have been reading daily newspaper or watching around your circle and find better stories in real life. Had they focused the plot on content about last 10 minutes, it would have been much better.
Never been so disappointed with a movie.
Mahi NRI (2017)
Waste of Time
Cheap cast low budget movie. Thousand times tried plot with no fun whatsoever. Ghuggi is wasted here. Avoid at all cost.
Akinjeon (2019)
Great Movie
After a long, I have seen a movie which truly entertained till the very end. It has great level of humor, violence, twists and unique story. I am a fan of the ganster now and watch all his movies.
10/10
Lock (2016)
Gem of a Story
Unlike other punjabi films, the focus of this movie is not just insane jokes and typical Canada immigration dreams. It starts slowly to build its plot and characters and then the main event of the movie out-folds which circles around these build characters and values.
Events are intertwined in a beautiful way and the end leads to redemption for the narrative in an unpredictable way. Acting is decent by all actors especially the lead actor.
I hope such movies are regularly made in punjabi movie industry.
Bambukat (2016)
Brilliant Movie
After huge success of Angrej, Ammy Virk appears in a lead role in this movie and what a good choice he is for this role. This movie brings back the magic of Angrej which is about simple life of rural Punjab in not so advanced era. Story is simple yet profound in showing intricacies of relationships among in laws and other relatives.
Binnu Dhillon as usual is great in his role with his unique style of humor and performance. All other actors have done their part brilliantly.
Keep bringing such movies to advance Punjabi movie industry to new levels.
PK (2014)
False review by Asad Khan Nasar
Hey man its 02:00PM in Pakistan and first show starts at 01:45PM, then how come you have watched this movie while living in Pakistan. You are just a Aamir Khan hater and nothing else. In your hate you have judged this movie without even watching it.
I am not saying this movie is brilliant because I haven't watched it. I would definitely watch it today and if I didn't like it then I would write another review. But rating a movie or writing a review without even watching the movie is against ethical standards and IMDb policy as well.
I would suggest people to not take any reviews seriously until after few more hours.
Satya 2 (2013)
Intensely gripping, fresh and amazing movie
I wonder how can this movie has such a low rating and box office collections. I think bollywood has become a formula industry. You get and mix specific ingredients and huge profit is guaranteed.
RGV has come back with a hammer. Plot is very unique and attractive from the tag line. Puneet Singh although new is brilliant in his role. His voice and looks suits the character. Background music was brilliant although I can't comment about the songs because I never like to listen songs while watching a movie. The idea of the movie is the whole life of it and luckily it was met with justice throughout the movie.
I am desperately looking for sequel which is promised but I am not sure if there will be any because of the low business of the movie so far.
The Life of Buddha (2007)
Quick way to understand Buddha
This documentary is a real quick way to understand Buddha. A lot of money around 4 million dollars are spent on the project. For me, Buddha has always been a mystery. This is most because of very complex teachings (or translations) which don't make sense if you don't know the real life of Buddha. I would prefer any new comers into understanding Buddhist to first see this documentary before going on to some advance level material. You would easily get the know-how and maintain your interest for advance levels. By technical standards this is brilliantly made documentary and presents an open view of Buddhism and life of Buddha.
Desi Romeos (2012)
Terrible Movie
I am sure high rating of this movie is due to a certain group of people related to this movie. Very bad sound editing, you cannot literally listen many dialogs due to high pitched background music. Dialogs were never funny and were badly written. Story virtually had no plot whatsoever. Things were moving from one place to another without any sense. Acting was the worst thing in the movie. Lead character Babbu Maan was so bad that I don't understand who told him to act. He was just mumbling all the time. No actor was good enough to be mentioned.
The real part, the music upon which the movie is focused was equally bad as well. No song was Punjabi enough to be called a good one. Many songs were so out of place and forced on the situation that you will feel sickened many times.
All in all this movie was terrible experience. There has been a surge of Punjabi singers to make movies but Babbu Maan should only focus on singing and forget about making movies. It seemed like he was just compelled to make a movie and through upon the audience without learning anything about making movies.
Bol (2011)
Greatest Movie Ever Made In Pakistan
There is no doubt that. It was almost perfect in everything. Its even one of the best movie I have ever seen. Only a few can be considered better than this (and, of course, all from Hollywood).
I bet this movie will do great business if they manage to release to a larger audience in India, middle east, UK and USA. This should at least be nominated for Oscars. I am proud for what Shoaib Mansoor has done for lifting Pakistan's name by his movies. He is a true legend. His work for media industry has been tremendous and luckily he was awarded for his work by Sitar-e-Imtiaz, even before he made his two movies.
No soul in Pakistan should deprive themselves for watching this movie in theater.
Y.M.I. Yeh Mera India (2008)
Amazing Movie
This film explores the life of typical Indians. It shows how one bad day comes and how problems are tackled another day. It shows how we create problems by not taking over the responsibility of our character. N. Chandra has done a great job with character development and handling different characters so beautifully. I was never bored for a moment. Dialogues were great and sensitive issues were handled with great care. Although melodramatic factor seems obvious, but I think truth is stranger than fiction, and in real life, things could seem more melodramatic if we shoot these on cam.
Another story like this was taxi 9211, but this was far better. It touched various issues of human beings and were better handled with logical comments and justification in the end.
I gave it a 9, because I think the movie could have been a little shorter. There was some extra time spent on scene elaboration. However, it was a great movie. Maybe, it won't do much good on box office. But, for me it will be a cult classic.
Billu (2009)
Disappointing
The movie starts with a very good theme describing billu, the village the entry of srk and all. But the things gets worse when the general expectation of the viewer for a such a big release go wrong.
I was expecting that srk will meet billu pretty soon and then the story will take an astonishing turn and show after abouts of the friendship or something else. But the director took it unnecessarily long and shown excessive and predictable incidents of billu not being able to meet srk.
You ask me guys, this in no way looks like a feature film, but a cheap and unnecessarily long drama serial. Srk acting was not good at all.
I will give it 4 stars just because of the acting of Irfan Khan and a comedy scene acted by hotel manager.
It really disappointed me.
Vadh (2002)
a story with very unusual ending
I have got to say i really enjoyed watching this film. Suspense was super class and was very unlikely to be guessed.
Nana Patekar acting was superb. All others were not very good though.
But, the film is lifted mainly by NP. A truly unique thing about the movie was the ending. I haven't seen such justified and unusual ending in any other film.
If this is not a copy of any Hollywood film then its gonna rest into my all time favorite movies. Watch the movie and you would not regret 1 bit of your time spent.
