I just watched the first season and wow this is an incredible show. I love the way they displayed the complications and nuances that an affair can have. The drama was intoxicating and it all seamed realistic. There are a few times where the show gave some small time corny themes but overall it felt realistic and hard to turn away from. I look forward to the next seasons and hope the magic that made season 1 work, continue. Shows about affairs are not new and I'm not suggesting they did anything new, but the show did it well and did not over simplify things. If you engage an affair, things will get sticky!
I thought this was a great episode. It's tough because they touch on the foundation of what makes the video game so powerful. I'm glad they stuck to the blueprint for a lot of it and thought the changes were overall good. As someone who has played and seen some of these scenes in the video games countless times, i recognize it was impossible to live up to the original. Some of that is because one scene in particular is extremely important and beautiful. But I think the tv series is as good as it can get and I'm amazed how they can reimagine some of my most cherished moments of the game. I love the added material which fleshes out some concepts and gives more meat to things hinted at in the game.
This show is amazing and hilarious. It seems to have everything you need, humor, darkness, psychological themes, introspection and so much irony. It reminds me of the show Barry, where you forget how serious things actually are because of the way humor is involved in everything. The show seems to tackle serious themes such as mental illness and the difficulties of family life while keeping the viewers in a light mood. The acting is phenomenal and each character is likable. I enjoyed the first season very much. I'm half way through the second season. The second season is good so far though I think I was more into the show in the 1st. Overall, great show to binge.
