Sujo is a film that I went into with no expectations and no knowledge of the story. I left the theater having seen a masterpiece. A film that portrays the solitude of a boy born broken, born with a curse that couldn't be removed. The passion of building a better life brought down by the life he was born into.
Stunning cinematography and amazing acting elevate the story into its own world. The child actors especially surprised me with their talent, a quiet role is often the hardest to play. The sound design is one element of the film that especially blew me away. Little details are heard in amazing quality, loud sounds are sparse but powerful. The film is told mostly from Sujo's perspective, isolating the audience and providing a terrifying realistic look at a life many of us do not get to see.
9/10.

Horsin' Around isn't the BEST sitcom, but its pretty good. The creator of the show Herb Kazzaz got fired in the middle, so they is a noticeable change in quality. But some people prefer the later years. Some of my favorite episodes are: Goober Goes Home (the softball one) The first Christmas special and the Finale because of the unexpected downer ending. Overall its pretty decent. People compare Mr. Peanutbutter's house to this show a lot, and I do have to say Mr. Peanutbutter is much more energetic and fun than The Horse but I like them both the same. If you liked The Horse in this than you should watch the new Secretariat movie. Its kind of weird they didn't do a scene with his suicide and did a Christmas thing instead, but the "You are Secretariat" scene made up for it.
I first heard about this film from The Shins. James Mercer mentioned this film in an interview and talked about how it raised awareness for the band. I decided to watch this movie only because of this, and I actually thought it was pretty sweet. I like the contrast between Andrew's junkie friends and Sam's innocent, loving family. You can really see how much the colors change from depressing browns and whites to warm reds and yellows. I think Zach Braff did a great job directing the film in that sense. Braff also did a good job playing Andrew. He really portrayed the numb mindlessness of Andrew, and really changed throughout the film. I like how we see Andrew go back to that numb mindless state when he is waiting on the plane after leaving Sam. It really goes to show how much he needs her. Overall, the film was very well made and the soundtrack is gold. I was elated when I heard an acoustic version of "Such Great Heights" by the Postal Service playing at one point. I didn't know how versatile Natalie Portman was as an actress until watching this movie She played Sam very well and was one of the highlights for me.
