This film was completely unexpected. So many marvel movies have kept that same script of good verses bad- over and over again. This movie flipped the script. Good and bad collided in such an exquisite way. For those of you who have ever dealt with depression or shame or any other mental health issue that made you feel alone- this film will help you feel seen. And really stresses the fact that we are not alone. For me definitely one of my most favorite Marvel movies. Filled with humour and serious reflections of life and shame and humanity. The acting was great. Smiled and laughed and held my breath. Definitely a great film.
Ella enchanted is one of the best books and my favorite book when I was growing up. I was so excited when this movie came out. I bought the movie before I ever watched it. And it was such a disappointment. If you completely un connect it from the book then it's fine. It is not at all magical and romantic like the book. They've taken so many things out and modernized so much. And it's a musical. Now I love a good musical. This is not that. They've made a comedy that's ridiculous and feels so opposite the book. I Will be forever and always hoping for a remake that actually represents the book that I adore.
