This movie is actually a sensation. I am surprised not to see it amongst the top ranked movies.
Actually has tears in my eyes while watching it. Just cool acting and a flowing storyline.
It gives everyone something to ponder for, not just children but adults as well. Good background story for each character but I feel akeelah's mum backstory could have been developed a bit better to create a deep fear for her daughter.
Friendship was another theme that was seen greatly, having good friends would take one to greater heights and serve a propelling force.
In all it was a very good watch worth the time.

I saw a clip of this movie on YouTube and decided to give it a try. I felt it was going to be a good watch. But it didn't deliver at all, the aroma of the movie sleeping with the enemy was all over the place and it wasn't good at all . I am giving it a 4 just for some personal bias.
There were too many loopholes, things moved too fast and slow at the same time which basically looks like an irony on its own. The production team would take the blame here, the actors did a good job. My advice to the production team if you want to have a villain then make a villain. Not a too good movie to watch.

The hype from the movie was something else, I decided to spend time to download, watch and give my remarks on it, which I did and would love to share it.
The early part of the movie was seemingly interesting I was loving it and flowing with it until it got to a point when everything became two easy You see two persons who see for the first time and they fall in love immediately, bumping into each other, one of the things we have seen over and over again. There were no changes made to it.
Let's talk about the use of excess stars in the movie The unrealistic part of school, which is something I am still trying to wrap my head around, the visiting times of the school, the horrible fight scenes at the end.
Practically just a show of luxury with little or nothing to gather from the movie.
Watch just for entertainment purpose only, nothing fantastic to see here.
