This movie does a disservice to MILLIONS of patients suffering from horrible, painful diseases. My sister had cancer and the only medication that gave her some relief from the unrelenting pain was an opioid. Movies like this one along with lawsuits and the CDC/DEA's knee jerk prohibition of opioids, put so much pressure on doctors and pharmacists it became impossible to get the medication she desperately needed. Even at the end of her life, under hospice care, we had to BEG the doctors to give her enough medication to ease her suffering and make her comfortable. Her death was definitely without dignity.
Some patients absolutely need opioids; however, many viewers won't believe it until they, or someone they love, suffers like my sister and is denied pain relief because opioids have been terribly demonized.
