  • Good

The film can have its pacing issues, it can be quite boring at times with its limitedness, but still is charming with a bad time story type of charm, solid voice acting and some creative moments. Its far from one of the best and it isn't really a strong movie, especially with its limited animation, but I would recommend it to people and it definitely deserves some attention. I guess I can say, this film has a point.

  • Amazing

The next adventure of Hiccup and Toothless was great and on par with the original. With epic battles and very emotional and interesting writing with some loveable characters return, it stands as not only a solid feature, but also one of DreamWorks best films. It is true that it might suffer from a few weak points like some one dimensional comic reliefs, a weak and lazy start and a villain that can sometimes go a little too cartoony (even though Drago is still a good villain), but all of those are not enough to take it down with beautiful animation, some characters (especially Hiccup) being improved from before, and a lot of heart.

  • Great

I will start off with the movie's biggest downside, is that the story is kinda weak. The movie can get formula with the action, the foreshadowing makes things predictable, the humour is way too juvenile for the rest of the picture. However, that doesn't mean the story fail. In terms of its execution, the movie delivers some really heart warming moments, the action can get exciting, some of light hearted humour, even if unnecessary, can get a few cute laughs. While it doesn't have the best story, it does have some strong execution to deliver it well. For the characters in that story, they do have a similar problem. The movie would focus too much on just the two main characters that the others feel more like additional comic reliefs than the other characters. Little foot, after the death of his mother, is traumatized without her. Now he has to go back home without everyone giving him advice. There is Shara, which is his "friend". While she can act a little too mean spirited, she has to learn to get along with her friend and to not be the dominant one. For the rest, while they do supply some of the film's humour, they do feel just like additional comic reliefs and passes as just one dimensional. Non is really hateable, but still. Other than that MAJOR flaw, the characters are still likeable individually.

At the end: The land before time is a good and enjoyable animated feature. While it may suffer from its predictability and too many characters, it still has some heartwarming moments, great action, incredible animation and a lot of fun. My recommendation is go check it out. I loved this movie and it will forever be in my heart.
