With everything we have been witnessing around the world, where we are all headed as humanity. The silence, the fear, the peaceful protests, the resistance, all of it. Our paths heading towards more restrictions, our path to using AI and droids to fight wars. The destruction, all of it. All of it broken down in such a way that anyone can understand the message, clear vision and warning this episode is sending out to the world. It is written to perfection. And yet we know where this story goes, and why there always needs to be hope at the end of the road. No empire will last forever. Fascism must end before it ends all of us. Power to all the resistance in the world <3.
As an avid book reader who loved Game of Thrones in its entirety and grew distant from the fandom, I have loved reading people's reactions to the episodes this season in non-spoiler discussion threads online.
I've waited for this episode and yet it delivered better than all I had hoped for and more. It captures the true essence of everything that is a Song of Ice and Fire; why war is tragedy.
War is a horror show that isn't meant to be celebrated. It consumes, it kills, it burns, and it leaves ever lasting scars. And this episode was a horror show in the best possible way. It gave the viewers what they've been waiting for, but it gave it to us in a way that makes us wish we had never wanted it.
Masterclass in build-up, foreshadowing, and execution. The best episode of the show so far, and a huge congratulations to everyone that worked on it.
