I am not sure what I just watched ... but I feel very unclean after viewing this installment of the Silent Night, Deadly Night franchise. Buyer beware ... this is not a killer Santa movie, but rather a body horror exercise with more bodily discharge scenes than I am used to. Add in cockroaches, larvae, a greased up Clint Howard and this is really an oddity. Think Rosemary's Baby directed by David Cronenberg.
I saw a documentary on straight to VHS movies that mentioned this movie, and lead actor Tommy Hinkley said that for his audition, he was only given a few scenes rather than the entire script. I can see why! I can't see any actor willing to subject him/herself to the goo-soaked, humiliating scenes featured in this movie.
I also cannot see how semi-stars like Clint Howard or Maud Adams got talked into starring in this! I only hope Ron and Rance Howard never saw the final product.
Admittedly, this is a bit of a trainwreck that's hard to pry your eyes from ... but it is not for the easily grossed out.

Admittedly, I'm a sucker for any movie starring Cindy Busby or anything directed by Fred Olen Ray. This is a run of the mill Hallmark-style holiday movie. Girl meets prince...mistaken identity...a cute dog....cute little kid...and Michael Pare!! Can't go wrong if you have 90 mins to kill.
