  • David Fincher & Brad Pitt is Cinema

    Modern Cinemas Greatest Masterpiece.

"Cinema can change your life," FIGHT CLUB is a living proof. Fight Club remains the most influential, thought provoking, disturbing and liberating piece of art through the test of time and and this is something that can neither be created nor destroyed. This film exists for eternity and if you choose to understand it, that's an irrevocable path to enlightenment.

A David Fincher's Hypnosis. The juxtaposition of details, rabbit holes, the technical marvel which makes us gape in marvel, the gothic milieu, and Brad Pitt's awe struck performance, everything about Fight Club screams perfection. A meticulous masterclass on cinema, cinema and cinema.

  • Pure Cinema

The greatest thing about Thug Life lies in its honesty to tell a story and not sell a product. It's not a Gangster cinema. It's a story about an innocent brother & his sister who got affected & estranged by the Gangsters around them. Watch the film in this perspective and perhaps you'll understand why Thug Life is a story that's actually true to its core.

When did we stop making efforts to understand the film? Why are we constantly expecting filmmakers to spoon feed you. Cinema is art and to understand art you need to put effort.

Huge respect for the makers for not resorting to fake elevations, loud background score, forcefully setting up episodes for a heroic pay off, pretentious editing patterns & unnecessary dialogues. Embellishing the screenplay with cheap elements so it could appeal to a wide audience has tricked people into believing that's cinema. NO, ITS NOT.

THUG Life is Cinema, what I described above is not cinema, its a marketing gimmick that exploits the art called Cinema. I understand that a filmmaker's fundamental job is to appeal to the audience and satiate them but somewhere the tenet got lost in translation. Appealing to the audience whilst ensuring the art remains intact is important. When you succumb to only appealing, art mourns. Thug Life is mourning, which, if you think, make it's an art.

And finally this for those (you know who you are):

You are choosing unqualified, uneducated, undeserving Youtubers who post "reviews" over Indian cinema's greatest legends like Mani Ratnam, AR Rahman, Ravi K Chandran & Kamal Haasan.

Let me be clear - "You don't deserve Cinema."

Finally, I've come to accept that Maestro A. R. Rahman has piqued; he is no longer just a musician, he has become a medium through which music itself speaks. And that is why many fail to grasp the true sublimity of his background score. "Achcha Vanne Poovvaa" is a masterpiece.

  • Greatest HERO ever written in Indian Cinema

Best written HERO of Indian Cinema, best portrayal of a character by an actor - a life changing CINEMA.

From - Vicky Kaushal's Cinema To - Vicky Kaushal is Cinema.

Not once, or twice but to be able to deliver a masterclass through each character every time he embodies a role is something beyond art and artistry.

As an Indian cinema fan, I have witnessed the indecipherable metamorphosis of an actor; evolving from a heartbroken lover in Masaan to the heroic warrior in Chhaava, being Vicky kaushal is an insurmountable feat only fewer thespians in the world would surmount.

Chhaava, the film by Laxman Utekar, is a masterpiece with a power to change the perception of HERO. This is the story of a warrior, Chhatrapathi Sambhaji Maharaj, whom history might have failed to promulgate but cinema ensured to honour in the mightiest way possible.

Why do we need stories? To get inspired, to drive courage from, and to navigate the ordeals of life with hope. Chhaava is one such incredible story, a real chapter in Indian history, told with utmost sincerity. The film unabashedly influences you to embrace the fact that being a man is not merely a concoction of human biology but an honour. There is no better definition of HERO than CHHAAVA. This is a film every Indian should witness. Cinema is poised to alter lives. And having a real character like Chhaava do that for us, to be able to commemorate & celebrate a historical legend through the film is a blessing.

Filmmaking is a sacrifice! A sacrifice every honest maker would make to narrate a great story. It drains you, questions you, brakes you and makes you. Chhaava will remain as one such great sacrifice made by Laxman Utekar & Vicky Kaushal.

Vicky Kaushal portrayal of Chhaava felt like witnessing an actor transform into a ferocious Wild Lion. He's an absolute beast! The sheer definition of an alpha male. Chhaava cements Vicky Kausal as the greatest actor of Indian cinema. This is an apex form of acting, even his breath roars in the film's penultimate episodes which I staunchly believe is one of the best written episodes in the history of cinema.

The stark power of the dialogues, gripping screenplay, Saurabh Goswami's cinematography reminiscent of a renaissance painting, goosebumps inducing soundtrack and Vicky Kaushal himself makes Chhaava a monumental achievement in Indian cinema.

Huge respect and gratitude to - Ar Rahman, Irshad Kamil, Rishi Virmani, Kaustubh Savarkar, Unman Bankar, Omkar Mahajan, Saurabh Goswami, DineshVijan, Akshaye Khanna, Rashmika Mandanna, Manish Pradhan and rest of the crew for their priceless contribution to Indian cinema.
