Have you seen the Geiko commercial where it asks, are you in a horror movie? It then shows people trying to escape the killer and trying to figure out whether to get in the running car or hide in the garage with all the killing tools? Yeah, this is them made into a movie.
They panic at the least bit of provocation and don't bother to try to think a situation out. I worked with a guy like this, when the fit hit the shan I would tell my boss to get him out of there or I was going home. Panic induces panic, it does no one any good.
Sometimes in these movies, I am rooting for the bad guy/creature because the people are too idiotic to live. I say save the gene pool and do off with these morons.
First things first, never go into the woods where there might be bears, cougars, etc.. without a weapon, at least a Bowie knife if not a gun. They go for a nature hike while talking about there being bears in the area, again bring a weapon.
The people in this movie probably thought the defense of Winter Fell in the Battle of the Dark Night, made sense where you have the artillery in front of the army and send the cavalry into a dead charge against things that won't care about them in the middle of the night where they cannot see what is happening.
The movie had promise, good idea, bad script and moronic people who are supposed to be the sympathetic people.
How is this for an idea, a horror film where the people are not complete idiots?
The more I do this review the lower my rating got.

If you are going to shoot most of your movie in the dark, then have infrared so we can see what is going on. An hour plus of darkness with a few glimpses of what is going on is not a good movie, it's torture. I could not care about any of the characters, nor did I understand anything going on in this movie.
I feel like I wasted two hours of my life watching this. If make a movie have some explanation as to what is going on, just a bunch of video of running in the dark does not cut it.
As for the acting, I could not tell, everything was pitch black except for some screaming. Don't waste your time with this one.

Not horrible, not good, just kind of an okay movie, which has two former great comedians in the movie. Chevy Chase and Dan Akroyd used to be comedy legends and make great films, this was more of a paycheck movie for them.
The other actors are okay, once again not horrible, not good, there is a story there but it has no pacing, no great set designs, nothing original.
So why watch this movie, if you like zombie movies, then there are a lot worse movies you can watch. This is not a movie you will be thinking about for the next week, it is a "I have two hours to waste and I love zombie movies" type of movie.
