I hate Rom-Coms, but for some reason, this one was different to me. I love the actress that played Molli in pretty much everything she's done and she played her role perfectly.
This felt like a futuristic sci-fi version of When Harry Met Sally in a way.
Like someone else posted, pay attention to the dialog and subtlety because that's where the humor is.
I knew I loved this film when it was over and all I could think was 'this would make a great series'.
Overall well done but definitely you'll want to play attention to the dialog and subtlety of this film or you might not get it. Shouldn't need to state that but there are so many people that don't pay attention and complain a movie is boring.

Honestly surprised that this is a 5.4 rating on IMDB. I suppose you can't argue with taste.
Thought this was a great adaptation and the performances of Robin Williams and Shelley Duvall were stellar. Great casting. Robin Williams was perfect for Popeye and Shelley Duvall was meant to be Olive Oyl. So sad they're both gone now. Can't imagine anyone else as her. Overall a fun film.
My only wish is they would have had the Sea Hag and Alice the Goon somehow. Especially the Sea Hag. Very underrated character.
No one can say that Robert Altman doesn't know how to cast. Feels like he nailed down everyone just like the cartoon.

Watched this on Amazon Prime and the description made it sound like this guy was a fake scammer (similar to the Tinder Swindler or Inventing Anna) but not at all. While he was a fake, he did it as a journalist and was very clever in his undercover work.
The documentary displays that Maz was a complex character. He could be ruthless, but the results did some good. He also made sure his team were people that were like minded.
The interviews really made for a great narrative. Even some of the people who feel into the trap told their stories too. The only sad part is it didn't get Maz's side of it.
