This is a church-produced musical of The Pilgrim's Progress. It is in rhyme and filled with great music, filmed in what seems to be the Western USA. With an obviously small budget, it manages to achieve a strong artistic effect. I watched it with my kids months ago and I still remember how good it is. Why is it so good?--It accurately and creatively retells the story of Pilgrim and his burden of sin, and how he is unburdened from it through faith, emphasizing the truths of Scripture while he travels through trying situations and calls people to the same journey of faith. It shows the effects of sin without over-dramatizing. People with young children will find the opening scene too intense, and some other scenes show peril, but not over-the-top stuff. If anything, the perils are understated compared to recent movie versions that depend on special animated effects. The cast is real people, not animation. Highly recommend it.
