I wasn't sure about this episode at first but by the end I was convinced that it was the best episode of this show so far. I think this is the only episode where you don't know what's happening for most of it, and while I do enjoy the usual format where the "mystery" is revealed to the viewer from the start, it was a welcome departure for a change. What seems like a fairly predictable setup at first changes, then changes again, each fake out is so satisfying and the ending was just... divine. Trying not to go into too much detail so as not to spoil it, but this episode really won me back over after a somewhat disappointing, formulaic feel to some of the rest of this series. I'm excited about this show again and so glad I kept watching, this really is Poker Face at its best.
Now that I think about it, I genuinely can't fault this show in any way. It's dark, but not so dark that it stops being hilarious, weirdly uplifting and an absolute joy to watch. Every single person in this show is so perfectly cast, the dialogue so well written and the plots sometimes so farcical it's almost reminiscent of a show like Curb, except with much more loveable protagonists. I struggle to think of anyone I wouldn't recommend this show to other than young children. My only complaint is that I cannot wait to see more of it!! We all need more Craig Robinson in our lives and this show is him at his absolute best.
