The show is good in that it is diving into cases that do not seem to have been "done to death" by the myriad other true crime shows.
However, much like "Sins of the South", the narration is ridiculously over the top. "Dude Walker" (alias of Thomas McMullen) has more of an accent than the actual regional people being interviewed and/or recounting their memories.
Much like the Pace Salsa commercial, he deserves a "New York City" in regards to his faux twang.
So far I am able to tolerate the voice acting (aka narration). I just wish I knew why these shows cannot source regional VAs and use ones with exaggerated (fake) dialects.

So, let me get this straight... there is a secret prison full of serial killers in the middle of BFE. An explosion happens and a bunch of them get out. The number that have escaped is unknown. And a special team of 'five-ish' people are going to catch "em all?
Each and every one of these escapees has a hankering for killing and in no way wants to "disappear", reinvent themselves, or anything else. In fact it seems most are predisposed to go about some "unfinished business".
Okay, fine, whatever... suspension of disbelief and all that.
Main character, Bex, is a savant of the highest order. She knows everything about each of the killers without so much as a briefing or perusal of any files. Oh and her LUCK... she just happens on evidence or the target.
There is no urgency to reacquire all the prison escapees, instead they will go after them one by one, you know, for reasons.
Rewatch Criminal Minds, it is a better ensemble of more believable characters where the team actually compliments one another instead of the incohesive mess.
Cannot imagine a season 2 will happen.

...no it has been literally been done before.
The first episode was in regards to the charter boat Joe Cool and the murder of the crew. This story was already done on Hijacked in 2019 and previously on Fatal Encounters 2012.
Episode 2 was about Pegye Bechler's murder i 1997. This incident was covered on Fatal Vows in 2016 and also on Dateline in 2015.
Nothing new was added other than some rehashed interviews with family members and the tedious and drab voice of Captain Lee.
The previous iterations of the coverage of these cases were handled much better on the other shows in my opinion.
Maybe Oxygen can find some new, or at least more obscure cases to cover. If unfamiliar with the listed cases it could be interesting, but I personally have no need for a rehashing of old, already resolved cases.
