I had high expectations since the death / life topic is so intriguing and, moreover, I saw the trailer with the beautiful pictures of the scenery. But, as other reviewers already wrote, this story is flat. There is nothing unexpected. The room next door is not next door but downstairs. But there is absolutely nothing special about it. The dialogue between the two women does not contain much that is fascinating. Maybe I feel it this way because I am from a country where we quite easily talk about euthanasia and other ways to find a respectful death. What also bugged me was this mother-daughter relationship that had no depth. Moreover, the daughter looks too old in this movie. A couple of days more work could have made this movie absolutely excellent.
I liked it from the beginning to the end. Those three children, what a terrible ordeal for them to be born as children from a brute dad who has been building an empire and who has been on a crusade his entire life. Lots of developments are so similar to what happens in big companies. Bosses promise you a carrot and you go for it. But they only want you to go for it, 100 percent, and will not give you the carrot. Most likely, you will never get it. The best episode is the election evening when the three children several times say in one second that they love each other and in the next second show their selfishness and their ability to "kill" again (both) their siblings. The only very irritating about the whole series is this intro where they show these four children, that supposedly are Connor, Kendall, Shiv and Rome. But none of these kids has any ressemblance to the adults. It is a pity that the movie makers did not make an effort to find more suitable kids.
