Well I liked the special effects, the depiction of all of the beasts in the arena and the on set grandeur of the colosseum imagery and the armies on horses. The making of this film and all the decors must have been a lot of work, but ofcourse it was hard to compete with the original Gladiator(a top movie.)Also not sure all actors fitted their role or may have been misdirected. For instance Denzel Washington; normally one of my fav actors spoke with his own modern day voice like he was playing himself. But the story is about ancient Rome, the actors could have spoken more with Roman intonations. The protagonist Lucius life growing up could have been explored more. Also Hanna(Lucius) the main character a good fighter,made a bit vague impression as a whole Thought the acting of the emperor brothers was impressively well done and so of Lucilla and general Acasius.
