I genuinely can't believe how on earth this is 4.3 out of ten while monstrosities like willow creek which is just an hour long instagram vlog about camping with a single jumpscare are above 5.5, this is by no means a good horror movie but is still interesting and watchable. The acting is average, the jumpscares are decent, the story is pretty goofy but I've seen much worse, and the ending is interesting. This is certainly better than the insanely low rating it was given by reviewers. Overall I would say it's a very average indie horror movie that's worth watching even if it's very forgettable.
I'm not sure how this is rated only in the 5's, but this is definitely one of the better found footage films, one of the only few that actually make you forget it's a movie rather than a documentary. If you're into this style of horror, definitely recommend.
This movie is nowhere near as bad as some people are making it out to be, it's a decent and fun horror flick that anyone who isn't some critic can enjoy. Sure, it's not the highest quality, but it works. It was also unique for it's time, don't expect a masterpiece like hereditary and you'll be fine.
