Suspend your disbelief, accept that you're not watching this thing for the plot, and sit back for the most fun I'be had watching a movie in recent memory. Odenkirk kills it as he always does.
Not much to say other than this a heartfelt and very funny movie. Fans of Pete Davidson will definitely love it, as well as fans of high school coming of age movies.
I think many of the reviewers here were, surprisingly, looking for a lot more depth from a movie about high school students partying in a world where drugs and alcohol are only legal for one night. Others seem to be angry that they didn't read the description and then watched a movie about drug and alcohol use. The third group of reviewers did it right: they simply enjoyed a stupid/funny movie
This movie follows a familiar and at times cliche plot line: friends trying to have the night of their lives before finishing high school. Think of Superbad or Booksmart. Parodying the purge, this movie happens to take place on the one night of the year that partying is legal.
A predictable comedy with enough surprises to keep you interested, and some jokes that absolutely kill. Looking for low-brow, easily digestible comedy? Don't skip this one. But don't go in looking for more than you're gonna get.
