Nine people are stuck on an elevator and one of them has a bomb. They are all unlikable stereotypes and each of them exchanges one stupid stereotypical exchange after another until it just ends. So, so, so, so dumb and long.
There was no real tension. One of my leae favorite tropes in lazy and poorly written movies is when "everyone's a bad guy, so we're all good in the end." In this case, there's a racist, but this one is greedy and this one cheated on their spouse, so you see, we are all the same. What a bunch of stupid, smelly, damaging garbage. Also, the little girl is definitely a sociopathic monster from the beginning, and a murderer by the end. Why? What was the point of that?
To the person saying that this is what Devil should have been could not be more wrong. That's like reviewing Speed 2 and saying that it's like what Titanic should have been. Devil is a spooky, spirits-type of horror movie. This is a long-ass drama with some bloody events and a death or two.
I won't see it again because I found it to be a boring drama where every scene lasted too long. I'd watch Devil again for sure.
I raised the score from a 2 to a 3 after a wonderfully disgusting scene that demonstrated that you do not need to be Saw gory in order to be Saw disgusting. They then had a scene where a Jewish person and an Iranian Muslim have a jokey sit down, and the score went right back down. What a dumb, dumb movie.

A rich family gets robbed by a worker that they hired, and during the nighttime robbery, the robber is interrupted by a maniacal killer that has the money and the time to create Goldbergien contraptions in other people's homes before and while he kills. The protagonist is the initial robber/worker who eventually has to come to the aid of the family while surviving himself, and getting away with the theft that he must complete for entirely other personal reasons.
I loved it. For the type of movie that it is, it's great. The contraptions are elaborate and deadly. The bad guy is mysterious and powerful. The good guy is compelling and likable as hell. I would watch a whole series of these, if they made them like the Wrong Turn, Saw, or Final Destination. Worthwhile seeing, and I rewatch it regularly.

A group of generally stupid people get off flights at an airport and take the same shuttle to a town it turns out they know nothing about. They are immediately kidnapped by the shuttle driver who drives them around for a bit and sort of robs them a bit. Will any of them survive?
Sure: it was dumb. Sure: it made no sense in the real world. Sure: the characters exist on a spectrum between dimwitted and annoyingly cowardly. But how else are you going to write a movie??
Even though it was real stupid and there were far too many gigantic plot points, it was not the most unpleasant thing to watch. There is even something that might constitute a twist!
I wouldn't recommend it, but I also wouldn't be mad at anyone that made me watch it again.
