I wouldn't go as far as calling it "the best" MCU movie of all time-that feels a bit far-fetched. It was great, yes, but I'm still an Avengers: Infinity War girlie, followed closely by Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
So what exactly made Thunderbolts great? For me, it's the tight storytelling. Nothing felt unnecessary. Not once did I feel bored or zoned out. I even had to pee in the middle of the movie but literally ran back to my seat just so I wouldn't miss a single moment.
The action scenes were solid, the emotional beats landed well, and the best part? You don't need to know the characters going in. It stands on its own. Even if you're unfamiliar with who they are, you'll find yourself caring about them as the story goes on.
There's also this moment halfway through where you're left wondering, "How are they even supposed to beat that?" And while the direction it takes is something you might start to guess, the execution is what makes it special. The teamwork feels real. Their struggle is believable, and by the end, you're genuinely rooting for them.
So yeah. If you've been seeing people say it's good? Believe them. Because it is.

Balota stays focused on its central theme, offering an informed look at election scheming from the past-one that, I believe, remains rampant today. Its depiction of corruption is both unsettling and necessary, and once the story zeroes in on Teacher Emmy, it never lets go. The tension is gripping.
However, the film holds back from fully embracing a grittier tone, despite the opportunity. The ending also feels too intent on driving its message home, when a more subtle approach would have been more powerful.
Overall, it's an effective and thought-provoking election drama. Marian shines as Teacher Emmy, supported by a strong cast. I just wish the film had leaned into a darker tone-if it had, it would have been even more impactful.

I don't know why critics hated it, but for me it was actually good! Amy Adams' acting was superb and the story didn't bore. The only thing that disappointed me was the real culprit was revealed too early and the tension on the end was cut too soon.
