A number of things crossed my mind after watching this series. Dysfunctional families, infidelity, lies, and manipulation caused a horrific shooting in a small town grocery store. Was the wrong person vilified?
So many lives destroyed over a few people's bad decisions, lies, and lack of morals. It all comes down to nothing more. The shooter was driven to murdering eight townspeople because of family life, frustration, and anger. The local police department was inept and, as usual, barking up the wrong tree. Seems to be a universal problem not isolated ignorance in small towns. However, there was one redeeming person in the entire series. Antoine, the government grief counselor put his professionalism first and foremost.

Wow! Some of the reviews are harsh. Must be 'muricans. The end was exactly what I wanted to see happen. I found the series suspenseful and didn't predict who was truly at fault. One point was removed for the typical woman (wife) complaining about her husband's job, a cop. Seems to be a pattern in a lot of series. Woman marries a cop then doesn't like the hours, whines about being alone too much, and stops supporting her husband. Doesn't work that way!
Did she rightfully protect her son? The captain was protecting her heart and still grieving the loss of her daughter. Does that make it okay? In my opinion, yes! The little French weasel cop was annoying ... he may have good instincts, but he crossed the line to many times.
Excellent series!!!

Excellent series!!!
The mysteries are interesting and well played, but Nina's need to get romantically involved with every man in all three episodes simply turned me off. Her drug addict bi-polar sister was another annoyance...she didn't add a thing to the series. Nina's job is to a professional police detective and her personal decisions in life were simply not professional, in fact, cheap and aggravating. The final series was the worst. Without all her personal drama, these series would have been more interesting. Personally, she makes bad choices based on the men she is involved that overshadows good policing and investigating.
