If you need something to binge- this is it - but beware it's cringe and keep your finger near the ffwd button.
Every cliche you can think of about texans, or southerners for that matter, is weaved into this series. Cultural bias is putting it mildly.
Seems geared towards young adults and borders on propaganda. It's a guilty "pleasure" to watch and absolutely terrible.

There are two times in my life thus far in which I lost trust in the news media. I won't name the second but this fiasco was the first.
I remember while the nonsense was live on TV and proclaiming " there's no boy in that balloon!". All i could think about was the movie 12 Monkeys with the boy in the well and all the while he was in the barn.
The fact law enforcement did not search the attic is mind blowing at best. The parents stated the kid was always hiding yet nobody bothered to look in the attic or any other known crawl spaces? The fact the parents had no idea the kid had a hiding spot in the attic is also pitiful.
I am not convinced the parents made it up but I'm not convinced they didn't either. This is a family that lives life on their terms but doubt they would go to this extreme to become famous. How could they even have imagined a hoax like that would garner national attention and ultimately prosecution. Good on the family for moving on with their life and not allowing this ridiculous moment to define who they are.
Shame on the "news" media!

The first season was my favorite of all three thus far. Season 2 seemed to be missing the flow, feel, and depth from the first season. Season 3 was much better than 2 and provided a similar vibe as the first season.
All in all it was watch worthy and the depth of writing is astonishing. I am looking forward to a new season with fresh naive families who will be changed by universal happenstances.
Even the wealthy suffer; this series proves that sincere bonds we have with nature and/ or others is the ultimate value; thus money truly isn't everything.
