Is it the best video game adaptation? Absolutely not. Is it a good movie? Absolutely not. Is it still entertaining? Absolutely.
This is probably the most interesting video game adaptation ever, because live action for a Minecraft movie is actually illogical. But at least they tried to do something with the concept. However, the movie drags a lot at the beginning. There's a story that wasn't needed. It was really nice when all the characters were in the Minecraft world, because that's when things got more interesting. You saw Jack Black and Jason Momoa and the others crafting, interacting with the world, and exuding great Minecraft vibes. The story was okay, and the laughs mostly came from the situational comedy, less so from the actual jokes.
Overall, the movie is worth watching, as it has its charm. But for a potential second Minecraft movie, I would like to see a better implementation in terms of humor and story, as I generally want to see more of this Minecraft film version, but not necessarily with these weaknesses.

I hadn't seen this movie before, but I watched it now. Why not, that was simply because I'm not a Pokémon fan. But over the last few years I've come to love video game movies from big brands, and Detective Pikachu was actually the first good video game movie, so I had to watch it. A great movie. A great Pokémon movie, a Pikachu movie, and yes, a great adaptation of the game of the same name.
The Pokémon look fantastic in live action, and the world is also superbly realized. The story is exciting, and even if it drags a bit towards the end and has more difficult than easy moments, it's still very entertaining. The battles were well executed too.

What a nice prequel. This movie is one of those examples that shows what opinion on the internet is and what opinion is in reality. This movie was mostly hated on the internet, but now I've seen it myself and the movie is far from bad. The movie is really great and the realistic-looking animation is once again great. You could also see real emotions in the animals this time, unlike the 2019 remake, which I found to be a very good improvement as it looked both realistic and not too emotionless.
As for the story itself, it's really good and, above all, original. The story surrounding Mufasa and Taka's (Scar) past is not what you first expect, as Mufasa and Taka are not blood-related brothers, which I would have found cool, but something good was still done with the reinterpretation.
