Thanks to the Film maker Laxman Utekar &
Maddock Films for bringing into the light the valor of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
The film begins with the voiceover of Ajay Devgn narrating about the emergence of Mughal Empire, their fight with Marathas. Emergence of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj & then the shutter opens where we could hear the news of the death of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with the introduction of Aurangzeb.
The movie escalates with the first war scene in one of the Aurangzeb's territories with the introduction of Chhaava followed by 15-20 min approximate including the Sambhaji Maharaj encounter with the lion. This initial fight sequence was not only heavy but it just gave us an idea how the film will travel.
There on the film travels around the life of Sambhaji Maharaj which is quite good to watch as it just highlights again that politics and war should be first finished inside the house before facing the known opponent.
The second half is the heart of this movie as we could see how Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj fearlessly faced Aurangzeb. Back to back wars , the fearless nature of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj especially at the climax of 15-20 minutes around where we could how cruelly he was being tortured before he was been executed but at the same time we could see the valor of this great warrior and that's we could see many great warriors today in Army , Navy and Airforce which resonates with the dialogue said by Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj that " There would be more Shivay and Sambha would be born".
Talking about the performance, Vicky Kaushal had forgotten who he is really as each move, every dialogue, the loudness he brought for this character we would never ever forget Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The climax fight sequence followed by his execution; Vicky had brought a sentience to the character as one side we would be reverent towards this character but on other side a pain as how Sambhaji would have gone through the pain at his final moments. A big salute to Vicky Kaushal for making Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj immortal.
Akshay Khanna as Aurangzeb. If viewers post watching Chhaava would hate Aurangzeb credit goes to his performance. His makeover was outstanding & what we saw from trailer he was terrific at the big screen. His viciousness covered with a silent face had been well replicated by Akshay Khanna & it adds one of his brilliant performances. Rashmika Mandaana as Yesubai had gave a neat performance.
Coming to the screen play which is penned by Laxman Utekar, Rishi Virmani, Kaustubh Savarkar, Unman Bankar, Omkar Mahajan it was well written as it was focusing on going wars between the Maratha & Mughal thereby not highlighting the stardom surpassing the real-life character.
Dialogues Rishi Virmani & Irshad Kamil was good & it was heavy at the climax which turned out to be clap worthy moment.
Cinematography of Saurabh Goswami, A. R. Rahman BGM, Manish Pradhan editing & Maddock Films production quality in terms of its VFX had made Chhaava a perfect theatrical experience watch.

The movie does not offer you the usual mass template of a super star but it showcases the director's vidaamuyarchi (perseverance) in bringing a superstar into his vision.
The film surrounds of Arjun played by Ajith Kumar working in an MNC living with his wife Kayal played by Trisha. The couple lives in Azerbaijan. A moment comes in their life when the couple decides to separate themselves & Arjun takes to her house but during their journey a misfortunate incident happens which disappears Kayal and Arjun is on a mission to rescue his wife.
As mentioned earlier, it is a character driven story & hence we could not expect a bang introduction, a mass fight scene accelerating the stardom but still it is a ONE-TIME watchable flick.
The 1st half of the movie goes on a slow pace revolving around the life of the Arjun - Kayal marital relationship, their estranged relations but by its mid, the director able to make us get into the main core of the story.
The 2nd half is all about the Arjun's journey to find Kayal wherein we could observe the anxiety, perseverance of the lead character. The main highlight in the 2nd half is stunning car fight sequence blended with Anirudh score. The only goosebumps moment in the entire film.
Action sequences were okayish as it designed in a manner which fits the lead character's nature so the whistle blowing moment would not happen if it is expected from a usual Thala Movie.
Talking about the technical aspect, OM Prakash cinematography capturing the terrain of Azerbaijan is captivating. The long shots, the static shots had beautifully been captured. Anirudh score is another highlight of the movie.
Director Magizh Thirumeni storytelling ground to the reality hence it is not a star driven film hence it would fail to cater the mass audience.
Overall Vidaamuyarchi opens a gate for the film makers who wants to break the barrier of the contemporary star driven movies.

2025 Maddock Films began with a bang. Sky Force will not deliver you the stylized action, romance sequences of the lead hero - heroine but it shows you the human emotions in a sector where emotions are kept aside for the sake of the nation.
The story is about the Indian Airforce strike against Pakistan on 1965 and during that courageous act, an officer "T. Krishna Vijaya alias "Tabby" vanishes into thin air & his superior Wing Commander Om Ahuja is on a journey to find his disappeared colleague.
Skyforce is not only the story of 1965 Air attack mission but its beyond that as it takes us to the path of the unrecognized sacrifices of the real heroes, how its impact the lives of their loved ones.
Skyforce does not give us a new story but its always refreshing to see when it comes to presentation of the real-life heroes & Skyforce succeeds in it.
Talking about the writing aspect, screen play is well written. Moments of goosebumps, tears were well placed. The 1st half basically focuses on the 1965 war and the second half is its extension & the 2nd half played an important part as its heavily based on sentiments & there the writing team "Sandeep Kewlani; Aamil Keeyan Khan; Carl Austin & Niren Bhatt" had beautifully narrated thereby making the movie a worth watch.
Talking about the technical aspect, Director duo Sandeep Kewlani - Abhishek Anil Kapur beautifully presented the movie. Aerial action sequences were captivating. VFX work was noteworthy as it might some few films where VFX in an action sequences were well blended.
Performance wise the lead Akshay Kumar & Veer Pahariya had lived on their characters. Veer Pahariya never gave us the hint that it was his debut film. Especially the climax portraying his character bravery blended with Justin Varghese score was presented very well.
Overall Sky Force gives us the contentment.
