I'm in love with the directing and how each color grading defines the relativity of the characters throughout the movie. This rate is my personal preference since this is my favorite type of movie. But I can say it's worth 7 to 8 rates for a regular viewer. You Made My Dawn is a great movie that portrays youth, drama, and slice-of-life genres. You Made My Dawn has gorgeous cinematography representing the importance of art for the characters based on the story. It contains a deep self-conflict within the main character but the execution makes it seem as light as possible. Such a heartwarming relationship between the characters.
I can say Mysterious Lotus Casebook is an angst drama and I won't recommend it if you want to watch a light storyline. The storyline is so complicated and has a lot of plot twists, yet it is also comedic at the same time. But this drama is fascinating. Although it contains a lot of mystery/criminal cases, it has powerful character-building and development. I love how the main characters try to understand themselves and take every problem logically. By far, Mysterious Lotus Casebook has the best wuxia adaptation scriptwriting by showing how every scene and every character is important and not rushed to the ending, unlike many other wuxia dramas.
As a wuxia drama, Word of Honor has an amazing and satisfying combat action. Every move is beautiful and reasonable, not only a bunch of characters drawing their sword. It can also be seen from the unique fan-fighting from Wen Kexing.
Wen Kexing as one of the main characters has a complicated and unique personality making this drama not only funny but also has a powerful storyline. Gong Jun as the actor succeeded in showing every little Wen Kexing's character development in every episode. The storyline is very good from the beginning but the execution for the last 2 episodes was lacking, making the ending feel rushed to come to an end.
