Maybe i'm biased bc i watched the UK version first but, the US version is so cringey, the writing feels very watered down & generic & it feels very like forced comedy. I was actually expecting a lot better since the original was soo good. I'm american, so like when i say the UK version is like 10x better in writing/acting & it feels less forced than this one :/
They sorta rushed through the beginning comparatively to the original, but that was expected. But that didnt really bother me. What kinda irked me was how "sitcomified" it felt even though it is a sitcom. The UK version had a nice flow, the jokes weren't that forced and/or cringey.
But i mean its an easy watch.

Idk i liked it sorta bc I ran out of chopped episodes to watch but like the way they tried to judge ppl on whether they were a professional chef or a con (aka home cook), just screamed classist. Like objectively it wasn't classist but the comments the judges made & the way they said it ,especially geoffrey zakarian, just screamed I'm a snooty restauranteur better than u classist. Idk it just rubbed me the wrong way, other than that it was a fun, easywatch.
