I thought it was an interesting concept to have a rags to riches style in a unique way as this. It seemed to have a good build up and structure with some possible hurdles made clear to the audience to build that suspence which it did very well. I liked the style of the film and thought it was well shot with room to improve.
However once it got about an hour into it, the plot completely fell apart. The fact that no one worked out what they were doing was unbelievable and after all that could've happened to the couple, the only thing that really affected them in the end was guilt. Not the police, not Mr Mun who had a very clear motive, not the father who despised his son-in-law, none of this mattered in the end. The kidnapping of the girl was some subplot that barely involved the couple and was merely a red herring for the audience, it got too much airtime to be that insignificant.
I thought the humour was good at times and we got to know the characters well and quickly through good use of character interactions, but it never really had a proper resolution. There were too many loose ends that weren't tied. We're introduced to so many characters and yet none of them had a true affect on Eun-Ji or Sun-Yeong. I thought there was going to be at least a legal dispute between the construction site and the couple and more at stake for them, but somehow none of this is addressed.
I enjoyed the majority of the film but I was really disappoined in how it ended. It just seems incomplete to me...

I loved the original Enola Holmes and the sequel adds to the fun and curious life of the young detective. It shares a great story and message, and a lot of fun to be a part of. We see a lot more chemistry between Sherlock and Enola, in addition to experiencing maturity and progression from our favourtie returning characters. Breaking the fourth wall works really well here to give us a deeper and emotional insight into an independant young woman creating havoc on a strict society which is fascinating perspective to behold and a fun adventure to be involved in. I truly hope there is another sequel to see Holmes & Holmes together in action and witness where Tewkesbury can make even more change.
The one thing I'd like to see changed for a future 'Enola Holmes 3' is to progress some of the humour. With the original audience becoming attached to the characters and growing up alongside them, it would be nice to see some of the childish humour and goofy stereotypes to dissipate.
Other than that it was an entertaining film to watch, the majority of acting was good throughout and an incredible message to sit behind it. Well Done.

From start to finish, from planning to execution, it is a piece of artistic genius. A very believable story that deals with very real scenarios, to the point where you think it would be based on a true story. The acting throughout is outstanding, the flow of the storyline is beyond perfect. It represents so many different perspectives which surrounds one main story, of which you would normally forget or not realise at all. A lot of different storylines back to back from all sides of this story, brought into one, to show how powerful one event can be. It's all unravelled in perfect a sequence to give the audience the right amount of emotional connection to each and every character.
In every film I ever watch, I always ask myself what I would do differently. That could be anything from changing a single facial expression within a scene, to refusing the storyline 30 minutes in. This is probably the first film I've ever watched where I wouldn't change a single thing. Absolutely flawless job from everyone involved.
