  • Tears in my eyes

Watching movies for a lot of years - aside blockbusters which "Herren" is definitely not - I just decided to divide them into two basic categories: movies that make me feel and those which don't. "Herren" touches my soul, telling the so to be story of daily life in Berlin. Along with all the struggles, fears and questions of "who am I" and "what should I do". "Herren" made me laugh, cry and think. Basically you can't expect more of a movie. Moreover it is a strong explanation mark for multicultural (called "multikulti" in Germany, pronounce the "u"s like in "room" :-) ) reality that works. As a German I want to believe in this formidable variety of human beings - as a teacher in Munich I can truly testify that it works. The good actors in this "silent" movie perform admirably solid. One thing that's odd is that "Herren" was amongst others financed by the Bavarian local authorities, still the story's plot is set in Berlin (again an applied geography thing here).

Never mind, I like it and "Herren" was able to touch my soul. That's what counts.
