This felt like a student film trying to be a Hallmark movie. The acting while not completely terrible, was very stilted a lot of the time. Especially the female lead. Much of the dialogue felt unnatural. The basic story is cute but some of the characterizations were awful. The boyfriend and his colleagues were beyond ridiculous. Cartoonish really.
It didn't feel like the main characters spent enough time together to develop real affection for each other.

First off, I thought Lena Olin, Anthony Stewart Head & Marisa Tomei gave fun performances in what I imagine was an easy paycheck for them. I enjoyed watching them.
So many of the reviews mention what a horrible message this film has... she lied and ended up getting everything she wanted in the end! How awful... but to that I say... that's kinda realistic. Loads of people in the world get ahead by being unscrupulous liers. Many many people climb the ladder by cheating and burning bridges. Hell there are even a great many that simply fail upwards without working very hard.
The main character here did lie yes. But she did not do it maliciously. Her intent was to appear way more important and put together than she was to impress a cute guy on a plane. Was it wrong? Sure, but she wasn't some evil mastermind. She did appear to be very knowledgeable in her field and clearly worked hard.
Personally I am not offended that this fictional character got a happy ending. I'm way more upset about the real life asshats that can't seem to ever face the consequences of their horrible actions. Cough: Trump.
