Slow is an understatement, but slow can be good if it is building up to something. However, after watching the first 2 episodes, it is literally slow with no direction.
They should rename this from Alien to "robot" because that's basically what the first episode is about, cyborg, synthetics, blah blah blah... a lot of philosophical talk about raising kids either "achievement" or "becoming," etc... yeah you're getting the picture.
It is like a very boring version of Bladerunner really and you get like 10 seconds of alien. All they do is talk talk talk. And the story is convoluted, science is worse than Star Wars Acolyte. A spaceship crashing into Earth with no burn marks, did not burn up in the atmosphere.
And a lot of politics, Wayland-Yutani vs prodigy and 3 other political entities.
Reality is, seems like they are trying to do too much in so little time, which is why it dragged as they are trying to set up all these little things nobody cares about. Why do we watch Alien? TO SEE ALIEN.
I started 2nd episode to see if it gets better, quit after 10 mins.
If I could give it a 0, I would. Utter waste of time. Want to see Alien Earth? I'd rather see AvP Requiem.
1/10.

First, the pros. Well, you can tell this was an expensive film and they really put the money in it. There are lots of great dino shots and the location is far more immersive than previous films. Sometimes some of the older films, the jungle feels like just a studio stage. But they went all out and you really get that safari feeling they're in a wild uncontained environment.
The cons. Well, first off, right from the beginning you already know who is going to get killed. First, the nobodies, the characters that don't have much development by unknown actors. Second, the evil dude. But you know from the start no one in that family is going to get killed. This is not a spoiler as you should already know this by now from all the other film. What this does is that it makes those scenes, though well thought out and filmed, dull and boring as you know they will not get hurt so there is no fear factor.
Other things that annoying me, well the kids annoy me that I was cheering for their demise even though I know that won't happen. The kids are super annoying. I mean, the kids from previous films were not that bad, but this one, makes you want to spoon feed them to the dinos.
And lastly, yeah, as others have said, no mutatoes please. Dinos only. Enough with the mutatoes.
7/10.
Jacking it up to a 10 because I noticed a lot of fake troll reviews giving it a 1. It is clearly not a 1.

As others have said, this is a western, an Irish western. Strange combination but I suppose it kinda works. The film is actually extremely well done until the ending, which was very predictable and anti-climatic. But up until that point, I thought the story was good, keep you engaged and the plot moved smoothly.
But as said, the ending was just "meh" in my opinion. Could've been so much better, not just about action, but about the outcome. Seemed a bit rushed and that's when things become cliche.
