Between its sweeping wide shots of the landscape and its intimate look into family relationships riddled with trauma, "Montana Story" is a force to be reckoned with. A love story to Montana, a love story to family and all its complications - do yourself a favor and check it out!
I started watching this for Alan Cumming, whom I love, and stayed for the whole show. It's a hilarious satire! Is it an accurate depiction of the royal family? Absolutely not, and it never claims to be (although you can imagine some of the events actually happening). On the one hand, I pity anyone born into the monarchy and think it's a horrible way to live your life and this show making fun of people trapped in that environment makes me feel a bit guilty for watching. But it's so damn enjoyable!
Luca is a gorgeous and entrancing film, but it's the subtext that's truly beautiful and groundbreaking because this movie is gay as hell. It touches on everything from the gay experience to the trans and gender fluid experience to pansexual/bisexuality. There's also some allusions to conversion therapy, closeting oneself, and queer codeswitching. AND it also teaches good allyship through the character of Guilliana and has differently abled representation through her father. Show this to your kids so they can see that love and acceptance is the most important thing!
