I watched this mainly because of Daniel Sharman. The script was weak and unconvincing, with no major surprises, and some parts were very predictable. However, it's watchable if you're not too picky. I really enjoyed the soundtrack and even added a few songs to my 80s playlist. The color aesthetic was also a highlight, from the scenes to the vibrant outfits.
I didn't care much for the other characters. I couldn't understand how Cindy managed to rise so easily in what was supposed to be a dangerous mafia family-she faced almost no suspicion (Mint Ma noticed but dropped it too quickly). As for Kelly, maybe I'm biased because of Daniel Sharman, but I felt sorry for his character. He was the black sheep of the family, trying hard to prove himself, yet no one took him seriously. His flamboyant appearance and personality likely stemmed from his unresolved mommy and daddy issues. I would have loved to see how he could grow and develop, but since Sky canceled the show, I can only imagine he would've caused more trouble before eventually maturing.
Overall, I think I had fun watching this. While it has its flaws, the engaging soundtrack and visual style make it worth a watch. I particularly appreciated Daniel Sharman's performance, especially his lip-syncing to "Kayleigh" at the beginning of episode 3. I'm left curious about the character development that could have unfolded and how the story might have progressed from there.
